Dr. Francis J. Harvey

Dr. Francis J. Harvey served as the 19th Secretary of the Army from November 2004 to March 2007. Prior to serving as Secretary of the Army, Dr. Harvey spent the majority of his career with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, which he joined in 1969 as a senior engineer and retired from in 1997 as the Chief Operating Officer of the Industries and Technology Group.

Dr. Harvey has served on more than ten corporate boards including three portfolio companies of The Carlyle Group. Dr. Harvey earned his doctorate in Metallurgy and Material Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science from the University of Notre Dame.
